Keeping Our Community Moving Forward

A reliable vehicle is more than transportation, it’s a lifeline. It gets people to work, medical appointments, school, the grocery store, and the places that keep life moving. When an unexpected repair bill threatens that mobility, it can quickly become a crisis.

That’s why Nate’s Community Garage was established in 2020 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization alongside Nate’s Garage Inc in Cannon Falls, Minnesota. While Nate’s Garage provides full-service automotive repair, collision and body work, and mini-storage services, Nate’s Community Garage exists for a greater purpose: helping neighbors overcome financial barriers that stand between them and dependable transportation.

Our Mission

At Nate’s Community Garage, we are committed to bridging the financial gap for Veterans, seniors, and individuals living on fixed incomes who face unexpected automotive repair expenses. Our goal is simple but powerful: to help people maintain their independence and mobility.

A repaired vehicle can mean the difference between keeping a job, making a doctor's appointment, or simply maintaining the freedom and dignity that comes with reliable transportation.

· Goodhue County

· Rice County

· Dakota County

How the Program Works

Our assistance program operates on a first-come, first-served basis and depends on available funding.

Participants complete an application process and, if approved, contribute a minimum of 25% of the repair cost. (Depending on the estimate) Nate’s Community Garage then provides reduced parts and labor costs and covers up to $500 per year. (Any additional costs are the responsibility of the applicant. Whether through funding from other organizations, or interest free options provided by Nate’s Community Garage.)

This partnership approach allows us to help more individuals while ensuring every dollar donated has the greatest possible impact.

The Impact We’re Making

Since our founding in 2020, Nate’s Community Garage has provided financial assistance to more than 50 individuals, families, and Veterans facing transportation challenges.

Each year, we host 3–5 fundraising events that bring together businesses, community members, and supporters who believe that no one should lose their independence because they cannot afford an unexpected vehicle repair.
